Welcome to our Acupuncture clinic.
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese method used to relieve some health conditions and symptoms, such as pain. An acupuncturist inserts very thin steel needles into your skin at multiple “acupoints.” The needles rebalance your body’s energy, or qi, and prompt your body to release natural chemicals to fight the illness or symptom.

ABOUT
Luminita Andreescu
Luminita
Acupuncturist
My name is Luminita and I am an Acupuncture practitioner trained at the prestigious International College of Oriental Medicine where I achieved a BSc (Hons) and a Licentiate in Acupuncture awarded through the University of Greenwich. This award facilitated a full membership with the British Acupuncture Council.
Although I have been a Registered Nurse for many years, I always knew that there was something missing which prevented people to achieve the health and well being they deserved and that, with acupuncture, I can help people on their way to wellness.
The interest and fascination for the Chinese Medicine History and Philosophy led me to realise that Acupuncture is the bridge that links Western Medicine to Chinese Medicine for a better understanding of the pathophysiology of disease manifesting differently in different individuals. Using this approach, the root cause of the problem is treated, not just the symptoms.
I have made the target of my professional career to integrate all my knowledge in helping people achieve their full potential by giving the mind a healthy body. My approach is to holistically involve the person in their treatment by explaining the process I am following, embodying nurturing the emotional being as well as the physical one. I have been trained in Classical Chinese Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Five elements Acupuncture and Stems and Branches.
Professionally I am particularly interested in treating cancer diagnosed individuals. Stress, anxiety, muscular-skeletal pain, digestive disorders, women’s health and fertility are amongst a few other conditions that I treat in my clinic every day. Acupuncture is very efficient in alleviating the side-effects of chemotherapy such as nausea and vomiting, hypertension, lymphoedema, increased risk of stroke, chemotherapy induced menopause.
Recently, I joined the UK Affiliate of Acupuncturists Without Borders, hoping to be able to help those in need after experiencing trauma, accidents, misplacement.
Before working with L&V Accu Kare, I used to suffer with extreme headaches and migraines but after a few sessions in Lumi’s care, I haven’t suffered from such headaches again.

Frequently Asked Q’s
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
You should come to the Acupuncture session after having a meal or at least something to eat. Having Acupuncture on empty stomach may make you dizzy. Come to the session in a calm state of mind and relaxed and be prepared to answer questions that might not seem relevant but that make sense for the diagnosis
What should I expect from my first session?
The first session starts with the interview which establishes the Chinese Medicine diagnosis on which the treatment will be based. This generally lasts 60 min. There will be another 30 min of acupuncture session in which the proper treatment will take place consisting of placing the fine acupuncture needles into specific points on the skin according to the Chinese Medicine diagnosis already established.
Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?
Yes, I do. I am professionally interested in treating terminally ill and cancer diagnosed individuals with a view to improving well being and fight the side effects of the chemo and radio therapy. The patients can experience an improvement in their general condition feeling generally better.
Do those needles hurt?
While the vast majority of points used do not cause any pain, on the slight occasion there will be a point which might cause a little discomfort when the needle is inserted however it fades away once the needle has been inserted.
